Three private sector representatives and the governors of the three Central Visayas provinces have been nominated as chairperson and co-chairperson of the Regional Development Council (RDC). The Investment Coordinating Committee-Techncial Board (ICC-TB) of the NEDA Board has endorsed the proposed New Cebu International Container Port Project (NCICP) to the ICC-Cabinet Committee (CabCom) during its meeting on 01 September 2016. NEDA7 leads in MOA signing for the newly created Regional Development Research Council

NEDA7 spearheaded the approval and signing of a Memorandum of Agreement establishing the Central Visayas Regional Development Research Council on August 8, 2016.
