The National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office VII (NEDA7) conducted its 2021 Midyear Planning Workshop last 30 June 2021.
The workshop allowed NEDA 7 to make adjustments to its 2021 work program to reflect activities that would lay down the groundwork for the preparation of the successor medium-term regional development plan for the period CY 2023-2028. The year 2022 serves as a transition period to revisit the lessons learned in the past 6 years and use these to benchmark the plan for the next medium-term.
The second semester work program of NEDA 7 shall include the formulation of the guidelines for the preparation of the Central Visayas Regional Development Plan (CV-RDP) for CY 2023-2028 as well as that of the FY 2023 Annual Investment Program (AIP) and 2023-2028 Regional Development Investment Program (RDIP) to serve as basis for the FY 2023 budgeting. The guidelines will consider the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Results Matrices (RMs) and COVID-19 recovery plans, among others.
The Regional Development Council (RDC) will also be reorganized in 2022. It will continue to be the primary institution that coordinates and sets the direction of all economic and social development efforts in the region.
In line with the upcoming reorganization of the RDC in July 2022, NEDA 7 will review and update the RDC Manual of Operations.
