Central Visayas RDC Approves Unsolicited Proposal for O&M, Expansion of BPIA

The unsolicited proposal for the O&M and expansion of Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA) includes, among others, capacity augmentation of passenger terminals and enhancement of airside facilities.

The unsolicited proposal for the operations and maintenance (O&M), and expansion of the Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA) obtained Full Council approval in the recently concluded 2nd Quarter Central Visayas RDC Full Council Meeting on 18 June 2021.

The Council passed resolutions approving the said project for inclusion in the Central Visayas Regional Development Investment Program (RDIP), 2017-2022, and endorsing it to the NEDA – Investment Coordination Committee (ICC) for evaluation.

The proposed project includes the taking-over of operations and maintenance of existing facilities from DOTr and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP); capacity augmentation by expanding or constructing new passenger terminals; installation of required equipment; and enhancement of airside facilities.

Prior to the Full Council Meeting, the project was also presented in the Bohol Provincial Development Council Executive Committee (PDC-ExeCom) and the RDC-Infrastructure Development Committee, both of which passed resolutions favorably endorsing the project to the RDC.
