NRO 7 receives BSP information support award

The NEDA Regional Office 7 (NRO7) was among the awardees during the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’s awarding of partners held recently at the BSP Cebu Regional office.

Monetary Board Member Dr. V. Bruce J. Tolentino keynoted the 2019 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders in Regions 7 and 8 last 28 August 2019. He shared the global and domestic challenges, resilience indicators of the the Philippine economy, and the importance of collaboration in the country’s economic team and among stakeholders.

The theme of this year’s awards was “One Team, One Goal: Resilient Partnership Towards Inclusive Economic Growth”.

Dr. Tolentino and BSP Deputy Governor Dr. Ma. Cyd Tuano-Amador expressed appreciation for the information and advocacy support provided by stakeholders that enables BSP to respond with appropriate policies and to extend the reach of its advocacies.

Among the Region 7 awardees for information support was the NRO7 as “Outstanding Partner for Report on Regional Economic Developments in the Philippines”. The Metro Retails Stores Group, Inc, and Kenko Tokina Silk Corporation were awarded as outstanding respondents among large and medium firms, and small firms, respectively.

Among the Region 7 awardees for advocacy support were Bohol Bankers Association, Department of Education Negros Oriental, Municipality of Pinamungajan (Cebu), Philippine National Bank (Cebu), and Bank of the Philippine Islands (Dumaguete City).

Former RDC 7 chairman and incumbent Bohol Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos received the award of the Bohol Bankers Association. DRD Chief Ruth Cruz, representing RD Efren Carreon and OIC-ARD Maria Teresa Alambra, accepted the award for the NRO 7.
