The National Economic and Development Authority 7 conducted a one-day seminar on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) for the members of the League of Local Planning and Development Coordinators, Inc. (LLPDCI – Region 7 Chapter) on 23 February 2015 at the Golden Valley Hotel in Cebu City. Under a Memorandum of Understanding between NEDA 7 and LLPDCI, this seminar is the first among the activities in support of the initiative for local capacity enhancement for development planning, project development, investment programming, and monitoring and evaluation.
NEDA 7 staff, who served as resource persons, gave lectures on M&E in the project development cycle; monitoring and evaluation, and development results; RPMES objectives, institutional arrangements, system framework, and its scope and coverage; M&E procedures and problem-solving mechanism; measuring project physical and financial performance; and conducting project site inspection and preparing a project inspection report.
The participants were also briefed on the Project Information Management System (PIMS), a web-based database for storing, retrieving, and generating reports on status of on-going projects monitored by the Regional Project Monitoring Committee and proposed projects.
Mr. Efren Logrono, the LLPDCI President and MPDC of Buenavista, Bohol, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to NEDA 7 for the conduct of the seminar and hoped for an enduring cooperation for future endeavors.
There were sixteen municipal PDCs from Bohol, one from Siquijor, and three planning officers from Cebu who participated in the seminar.
