NEDA 7 staff, together with other members of the Regional Inter-Agency Committee on Older Persons (RIACOP) visited the Hospicio de San Jose in Barili, Cebu on 1 October 2010 to kick-off the week-long celebration honoring elderly Filipinos. The visit was led by Ms. Shalaine Lucero of DSWD 7.

The Hospicio de San Jose is the first home for the elderly in Cebu Province. Established in 1924 by the Cui family, the hospice is managed by the brothers Atty. Mariano Y. Cui and Dr. Victor Y. Cui.
