RDC 7 up for reorganization
A special meeting of the Central Visayas Regional Development Council (RDC 7) will be held on 19 August 2010 at the Grand Convention Center in Cebu City. The main agenda of the meeting is the reorganization of the RDC for the term CY 2010-2013.
Also to be reorganized are the four RDC sectoral committees (Development Administration Committee, Economic Development Committee, Social Development Committee and Infrastructure Development Committee) as well as two committees under the RDC, the Regional Land Use Committee and the Regional Project Monitoring Committee.
Prior to the special meeting, an orientation of new private sector representatives (PSRs) will be held. The PSRs will be briefed on the RDC, its sectoral committees, and the role of the private sector in regional development. They will then select from among themselves, the private sector representation in the various positions in the RDC available to PSRs. These positions are the chairmanship of the RDC sectoral committees, membership in the sectoral committees, RLUC and RPMC, and a chance to be nominated and appointed as RDC Chair or Co-Chair.
Four names--that of 2 PSRs and 2 local chief executives--will be submitted to President Aquino from which he will choose and appoint the RDC 7 Chair and Co-Chair for the term 2010-2013.
