NEDA 7 "adopted" the island barangay of Gilutongan, Cordova, Cebu, when it donated 5 computers and networking equipment to the Gilutongan Elementary School on 16 December 2011.

The equipment were delivered to the school by some NEDA 7 staff led by Ms. Lorna Manila, President of the Organization of NEDA Employees (ONE 7) and OIC Chief of the Operations Division.

In a very brief turn-over ceremony witnessed by some barangay officials, the school principal received the computers.

Also distributed to the community were more than P8,000 worth of gift items donated by NEDA 7 and staff, 100 pairs of slippers from the Islander Footwear Company, Inc., dolls, toys, toorthbrush/toothpaste packs, underclothings, shirts, blouses, shorts and goodies.

These items were pre-identified based on the initial visit made by NEDA 7 OIC Regional Director Efren B. Carreon to the island.
