More than 70 participants from Bohol, Cebu and Negros Oriental participated in the regional consultative workshop conducted by the National Economic and Development Authority, in its role as the Philippine Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) Coordinating Secretariat. The workshop was held at the Montebello Villa Hotel, Cebu City, on October 25, 2011.

Dubbed "The Philippines' Countdown to Rio+20: Regional Consultation for the Philippines' Preparation and Participation in the UN Conference on Sustainable Development or Rio+20 Conference," the consultative workshop was one of several activities being undertaken by the Philippine government in preparation for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development or Rio+20 Conference that will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 4-6 June 2012.
